About Me

I’m a storyteller at heart, driven by the belief that the best journalism doesn’t just inform—it connects, provokes, and stays with you long after the last word. As a freelance journalist, I specialize in cultural reporting, investigative pieces, and long-form narratives that explore the intricate layers of the human experience.

Why do journalists have to be typecast? Why can’t sports reporting have the same depth as investigative journalism? Why can’t cultural stories be as gripping as political exposés? My approach blends genres and challenges conventions, inspired by the ethos of New Journalism. I bring a narrative flair to hard-hitting reporting, crafting stories that immerse readers in the experience while staying rooted in facts and truth.

My expertise spans sports journalism, where strategy and emotion collide, to deep dives into South American history and politics—a region I’m endlessly fascinated by for its cultural and political complexities. From exploring transitional justice to uncovering stories of resilience, I approach every topic with a commitment to nuance and detail.

I hold an Honours BA in Political Science and History from the University of Toronto, a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Master’s of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. Along the way, I’ve written for The Economist and Sportsnet, interviewed former Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador Danny Williams, and conducted an in-depth conversation with Julián Gallo Cubillos (formerly known as Carlos Antonio Lozada), a former FARC leader, about the challenges of peace processes. I also managed Canada’s first Live Journalism Festival.

For me, journalism isn’t just about reporting—it’s about connecting with people, challenging assumptions, and pushing the boundaries of storytelling. This site is a reflection of my work, my passions, and my mission to tell stories that matter.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you’ll find something here that inspires curiosity, sparks reflection, or simply offers a new perspective.
